Pavement Management Engineer / Project Manager
Duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordination and project management of client contracts with responsibility for the delivery of assigned projects and achievement of budget and schedule targets.
- Manage project outputs to ensure ARRB maintains a strong focus on project quality, timeliness and delivering outcomes that meet the needs of our customers and ensure a loyal customer base.
- Provide technical supervision for data processing staff
- Maintain lines of communication with field operators, processing staff, management, and clients.
- Work with all resources within ARRB Group (and the global family of ARRB companies), to ensure the project tasks, deliverables, quality and schedules are maintained to a high standard.
- Manage and update quality-control plans for roadway data collection and data processing.
- Prepare, review, and present reports of roadway condition data.
- Manage and assist with preparation of data-collection routes using GIS applications.
- Manage data processing tasks and assist with data processing when needed.
- Provide suggestions for technology improvement and process efficiency.
- Assist Business Development Managers in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
Requirements and skills:
- 5 or more years of relevant experience in roadway data collection, pavement engineering, pavement evaluation, pavement management, or related areas
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related area
- Must have a valid US drivers license
- Must be familiar with working on large numerical data sets and databases
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Have attention to detail and take pride in quality of work
- Can adapt to rapidly changing and unknown circumstances

Engineering Technician
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist with data-processing of collected road inventory and pavement condition data
- Assist with data-extraction from collected imagery and sensor roadway data
- Assist with quality-control on collected roadway data
- Assist with preparing reports of processed roadway condition data using tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and GIS applications
- Assist with preparing data-collection routes using GIS applications including ArcGIS, QGIS, and Google Maps
- Assist with field data collection as needed (up to 50/50 office/field during peak season)
- Assist with calibration and validation of roadway data collection equipment
- Assist with the maintenance of roadway data collection equipment
- Provide suggestions for improving equipment and processing software
- Work with all resources within the ARRB global team to ensure the deliverables and final output quality are maintained to a high standard
- On the job training and data processing training will be provided
Requirements and skills:
- Working computer knowledge and experience with MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, and Windows environments
- 2-year degree in Engineering, Geography, GIS or related discipline sufficient. 4-year degree in Engineering Technology, Geography, GIS or with mathematical and/or technical educational background is preferred
- Must be comfortable working with large numerical data sets
- Must be a self-starter and take initiatives to learn new methods of data processing
- Working knowledge of GIS applications (ArcGIS, QGIS) is highly desirable
- Must be a fast-learner and able to pick up new data-processing skills quickly
- Must be tech-savvy and have an appreciation for high-tech tools
- Must have time management skills
- Ability to operate with a wide variety of work cultures and condition

Transportation Data Analysis / Staff Engineer
Duties and responsibilities:
- Perform data-processing of collected road inventory and pavement condition data
- Perform data-extraction from collected imagery and sensor roadway data
- Perform quality-control on collected roadway data
- Prepare reports of processed roadway condition data using tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and GIS applications
- Prepare data-collection routes using GIS applications including ArcGIS, QGIS, and Google Maps
- Assist with field data collection as needed (may travel up to 25% during peak season)
- Assist with calibration and validation of roadway data collection equipment
- Provide suggestions for improving equipment and processing software
- Work with all resources within the ARRB global team to ensure the deliverables and final output quality are maintained to a high standard
- On the job training and data processing training will be provided; may require travel outside of the U.S. for training

Field Survey Operator – iPAVe
Duties and responsibilities:
- Drive, operate, and support high-tech data collection vehicles (tractor-trailer or cargo van), mounted with various sensors to collect pavement and roadway data, along with another operator/driver as part of a survey crew.
- Maintain vehicles and associated sensors in good condition and schedule service visits as necessary.
- Provide timely and accurate collection of road survey data across various project sites and locations in the United States and Canada
- Learn to operate data-collection computers and equipment to collect pavement surface and structural condition, geometry and video imaging data
- Learn basic data processing and assist with processing, checking and management of collected roadway data as needed
- Perform Equipment calibration, verification, validation, testing and maintenance on all survey equipment and sensors
- Lean to and assist equipment assembly specialists during installation of new equipment
- Comply with all OSHA and ARRB Quality procedures and policies as required
- Attend training programs to learn about upgrades and improvements to survey vehicles and equipment
Requirements and skills:
- Must have attention to detail and take pride in quality of work
- Must have a positive and can-do attitude and be a team-player
- Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing and unknown circumstances
- Must be able to travel for up to 75% (field/office ratio is 75/25) during peak season
- Must be a self-starter and take initiative
- Must have a valid CDL-A with 2 years+ driving experience in tractor-trailer and a current medical examiner’s certificate; long-distance driving skills is preferred
- Must have solid computer usage ability and experience using MS Excel and MS Word
- Must be able to obtain a passport and travel by air (locally or aboard) as required
- Must have some electronics and mechanical knowledge; more advanced electronics and mechanical knowledge is preferred
- Must have a high school diploma; post-high school certificate programs, associate degree, or 4-year degrees are preferred
- Must have good navigational skills
- Past military experience preferred
